The ExploraDome is a portable, immersive learning environment where students experience “hands-on, minds-on” learning. Through a process of guided inquiry based on the Minnesota State Science Standards, students can virtually travel from inside of the subatomic realm to the edge of the known universe. The ExploraDome experience features an age-appropriate lesson that delivers a high quality, interactive, visual program underneath an 25 foot diameter dome. The ExploraDome program inspires minds and leaves a lasting impression on students.
To find out more about the educational programs, or to schedule a visit, contact the Minnesota Planetarium Society by email at

How to schedule the ExploraDome for your school
The direct cost to schools when the school provides the funding is discounted at $1,000/day, plus travel expenses for destinations outside the Twin Cities Metro Area. Approximately 25-30 students can
be accomodated at one time. Six or more sessions can be accommodated during one day.
The Minnesota Planetarium and Space Discovery Center will
attempt to match schools in need of financial support with area
corporations who have volunteered to sponsor visits by the ExploraDome.
Our list of sponsors is growing. Thanks to ADC Foundation, Best Buy Children’s Foundation, the Hugh J. Andersen Foundation, Boston Scientific Foundation, General Mills Foundation, Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems, Pentair Foundation, Qwest Foundation, Seagate Foundation, Travelers Foundation, Xcel Energy and many others.
